In order to get your window sticker for your Genesis, regardless of the model, you will need your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is a unique seventeen-character string of numbers and capital letters that are specific to your vehicle. A vehicle’s VIN number is a way to track the vehicle’s history about previous owners, accidents, title and registration events, and repairs.

Where can I find my Genesis VIN?

VIN’s on Genesis vehicles are located in one of the following locations:

  • Car Windshield (dashboard on driver’s side)

  • Driver’s side doorjamb

  • Service Tag

How does Genesis describe packages and options?

The Korean company, Hyundai, saw the popularity of the company with its affordable vehicles and decided to try to attract higher-income customers. Thus, they created Hyundai Genesis to compete with Lexus, Audi, Mercedes Benz, and BMW. When looking at packages and options for a Genesis, it’s important to note it is a luxury brand geared towards those with more disposable income.

When naming vehicles, Genesis sticks with “G” to signify the brand name, followed by numbers to signify the model number (usually changes by year). This is a popular method with upscale vehicles to use a letter or include the word class followed by numbers or the model year--adds to the prestige. Some examples are listed below.

  • G80, G70, G90, GV80
