Luxury cars are more than just transportation; they offer style, flamboyance and power! When it comes to determining the most expensive cars in the world, it is heavily influenced by the brand of the car. Supercars and sports cars from Bugatti, Panini, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Ferrari and McLaren consistently dominate the luxury car markets and flood “most expensive vehicles” lists. For this year, we have prepared a list of the most expensive cars in the world -- here it is:

Bugatti La Voiture Noire


Price: $19 million Year: 2019 Engine: 8L W16 engine Horsepower: 1500 hp Max Speed: 261 mph


The “one-off” Bugatti La Voiture Noir translates to “the black car” and was purchased by Ferdinand Piech, owner of the VW group, for a price tag of $19 million. Bugatti has refused to reveal exact performance points, but experts estimate that the powerful 8L 16-cylinder engine produces up to 1500 hp and reaches above 261 mph and weighs lighter than the Bugatti Divo.

Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta


Price: $17.5 million Year: 2018 Engine: 7.3 liter V12 engine (dual-clutch gearbox) Horsepower: 789 bhp Max Speed: 220


This super sport vehicle’s rear wheel fairings are made of carbon fibre and the wheels are forged aluminum. Only three units of the Barchetta were made and Pagani, himself, reserved one for a present for his 60th birthday!


Rolls-Royce Sweptail


Price: $13 million Year: 2017 Engine: 6.75L V12 Horsepower: 453 hp Max Speed: 150mph

This car was made by the recommendation of a specific customer and is based on the 1920s and 1930s models; it also looks like a yacht from the rear! This vehicle only seats two and has an open sunroof. Rolls Royces are very exclusive as there were only 4,000 Rolls Royces manufactured in 2016.



Bugatti Centodieci


Price: $8.9 million Year: 2020 Engine: Quad turbo 8L W16 engine Horsepower: 1600 hp Max Speed: 236 mph

The Bugatti Centodieci is a limited edition French sports car built to celebrate Bugatt’s 110th birthday. This vehicle is the most expensive new car as it debuts in 2021 and only 10 units were made.


Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero


Price: $8 million Year: 2005 Engine: 6L twin turbo V12 engine Horsepower: 691 hp Max Speed: 216 mph


The Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero debuted in Berlin in 2005. The vehicle has a top speed of 216 mph and acceleration time of 4.4 seconds. This supercar is styled with dark and red leather, glossy carbon fiber, neoprene and accents of aluminum.


Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita


Price: $4.8 million Year: 2006 Engine: 4.7L V8 engine (twin supercharged gasoline/ethanol) Horsepower: 1004 hp Max Speed: 254 mph

The Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita is the most expensive street-legal car ever made. The word “Trevita” translates to “three whites'' in Swedish as the luxury car boasts unique white styling details. For example, the exterior paint is coated in diamond dust. This car comes with the following:

Lamborghini Veneno


Price: $4.5 million Year: 2013 Engine: 6.5L L539 V12 Horsepower: 740hp Max Speed: 221 mph The Lamborghini Veneno was built to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. This roadster’s Italian design has been referred to as “deadly” as this is the direct translation of “Veneno.” The 6.5 liter V12 with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed single clutch ISR automated manual transmission can spin at 8,400 rpm to yield 740 horsepower and 507 pound-feet of torque.




McLaren P1 LM


Price: $3.6 million Year: 2013 Engine: 3.8 L twin-turbocharged M838TQ V8 Horsepower: 1000 hp Max Speed: 147 mph The McLaren P1 LM was modeled after the McLaren P1 GTR, however was produced to be a more street-legal version. It weighs 132 pounds less than the P1 GTR and has about 40% increased downforce. Only five units of these road cars were made and each of these has been sold.


W Motors Lykan Hypersport


Price: $3.4 million Year: 2013 Engine: 3.7 L twin-turbocharged flat-six Horsepower: 780 hp Top Speed: 240 mph

The Lykan Hypersport was designed by W Motors and is the first Arab supercar. This luxury car incorporates 240 15-carat diamonds in the headlights and was designed by the Abu Dhabi police for active duty. The twin-turbo mid-rear mounted 3.8 liter flat-six boxer engine can produce 780 horsepower through the rear wheels, and a 708 pound-feet of torque. It can do a 62 in a mere 2.8 seconds, and can reach speeds up to 240 mph.


Aston Martin AM-RB 001


Price: $3.4 million Year: 2018 Engine: 6.5 litre Cosworth naturally-aspirated V12 Horsepower: 1000 hp Max Speed: 250 mph

Interesting fact: Andy Palmer, the new President of Aston Martin, agreed to make this hypercar over drinks with Red Racing’s Adrian Newey and Christian Horner of Red Bull. They incorporated a Rimac-built hybrid battery system, unique powertrain and an aerodynamic design that pushes air with the chassis, resulting in downward force without using it’s wings (specifically designed for this car). 150 units of this Aston Martin released in 2019.


Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio


Price: $3 million Year: 2013 Engine: 4.5 L Ferrari F136 F V8 Horsepower: 570 hp Max Speed: 198 mph

The Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio is one of the costliest Ferraris and fastest production cars ever made. This high performance vehicle was modeled after the Ferrari 458 Spider. This car was created as a concept car after the death of the founder Pininfarina’s son in 2013. Only six of these limited edition luxury vehicles were made and each of the owners were chosen by the manufacturers. Each of these handmade luxury coupes has two seats, no roof side windows or windshield (like the Ferrari 459) and is structured with an all carbon fiber frame. This renovated interior incorporates aerodynamic headrests built into the roll cage itself. This car even appeared at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show!
